Our Mission
The Franklin County Library Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization incorporated in 2003 and committed to enhancing the collections, programs, and services of the Franklin County Public Library.
What We Do
We provide funding for reading programs, guest speakers, classes and entertainments for children and adults. We cover some of the advertising costs to promote these programs and events. We also cover the costs associated with the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program for our county. We are available to help fund some library expenses not provided in the county budget.
What We’ve Done
We have helped
-
- furnish the main library in Rocky Mount
- promote a branch library for the Westlake area
- furnish and fill the shelves of the Westlake Library branch
- build and furnish the teen room in the Rocky Mount Library
- furnish the children’s room at the Westlake Library
- support a variety of other library programs.

Our Latest Project
In 2024 our foundation partnered with
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!
FREE books mailed every month to Franklin County children under the age of five.
9/2026 count: 1,500 children with 695 graduates!!
